Job Overview
We are a well-established multi-doctor general dental practice with 30 years of experience serving the South Bay community. We’re currently seeking an energetic Registered Dental Assistant/Front Desk Floater to join our friendly and supportive team. This is a weekday-only position (4–5 days/week, no weekends), ideal for someone who is reliable, caring, personable, and has strong communication skills.
Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including restorations, extractions, implants, orthodontics.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring aseptic techniques are maintained at all times.
Take dental X-rays using digital sensors and operate 3D scanner.
Manage patient clinical records, dental charting and treatment plan using Dentrix.
Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort throughout procedures, providing reassurance and clear communication.
Work as floater to support front desk tasks such as scheduling appointments, send recall reminders, collecting payments and verifying insurance.
Follow infection control protocols rigorously to uphold the highest standards of safety and hygiene within the clinic environment.
Skills
Proficiency with Dentrix, Weave
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques essential for safe practice.
At least one year experience with chairside assisting
Ability to operate dental X-ray equipment confidently while ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards.
Familiarity with coding for dental procedures and understanding of medical terminology relevant to dental care.
Skilled in using advanced tools such as 3D scanners for diagnostic purposes in modern dental practices.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, including pediatrics, fostering a positive experience from start to finish.
