Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Registered Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a smooth clinical workflow. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, patient assessment, and infection control protocols to ensure the highest standards of oral health care. Experience with EMR systems and familiarity with pediatric dentistry are highly valued. The Registered Dental Hygienist will work collaboratively with the dental team to promote optimal oral health outcomes for patients of all ages. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical history, and reviewing medical records to ensure comprehensive care. Assist with chairside procedures such as medical imaging, medical coding, and documentation review. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Maintain strict infection control and aseptic techniques in accordance with HIPAA regulations and OSHA standards. Support general dentistry procedures by providing patient care during treatments and assisting with pediatric dentistry when necessary. Use dental terminology accurately when documenting patient records and communicating with team members. Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations related to medical records, HIPAA privacy rules, and documentation standards. Collaborate with the dental team to improve clinic workflows and patient experience. Skills Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix. Strong knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and dental terminology relevant to patient care. Experience with pediatric dentistry, four-handed dentistry, and chairside assisting techniques. Ability to operate EMR systems efficiently for documentation review and medical coding. Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient populations. Knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures. Familiarity with vital signs measurement, medical imaging, and general dentistry procedures. Effective communication skills for educating patients about oral health and treatment plans.
