Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and sterilization techniques following aseptic protocols. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage patient records efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy in medical documentation and coding. Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, taking vital signs, and addressing patient questions with professionalism and empathy. Maintain infection control standards by following strict sterilization procedures and understanding anatomy knowledge to assist with accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist, managing medical records, and coordinating with insurance providers when necessary. Demonstrate proficiency in dental terminology and medical terminology to ensure clear communication within the team and with patients. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially in general dentistry or pediatrics. Familiarity with dental assisting duties including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and performing infection control procedures. Knowledge of EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is essential for managing patient information efficiently. Experience with medical imaging tools like 3D scanners and X-ray equipment is advantageous. Understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards to ensure compliance at all times. Ability to work effectively within a team practicing four-handed dentistry techniques for optimal patient care. Strong knowledge of dental anatomy, terminology, and infection control practices necessary for supporting diverse dental procedures.
