Overview We are seeking a full time dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, ensuring infection control, and maintaining accurate medical and dental records. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about patient care and dental health, with a focus on general dentistry. Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix is highly desirable. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in delivering high-quality dental services while adhering to HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols. Responsibilities Assist dentists during various procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontics and prosthodontics. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, ensuring aseptic techniques are followed. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) and operate 3D scanners for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Record vital signs and medical history, updating electronic medical records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix. Manage patient flow efficiently by performing check-in/check-out duties as a dental receptionist when needed. Provide chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance procedure efficiency. Maintain infection control standards through proper sterilization of instruments and adherence to OSHA guidelines. Educate patients on oral health care, dental terminology, and post-treatment instructions. Assist with medical imaging documentation and coding for accurate billing and record keeping in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support the dental team in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment. Requirements Prior experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred; familiarity with general dentistry procedures is essential. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix is highly desirable. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely following radiation safety protocols; experience with 3D scanners is a plus. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations concerning patient privacy and medical documentation. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics. Certification or training in chairside assisting, vital signs measurement, or related areas is advantageous. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
