Permanent Dental Hygienist Job in Lago Vista, TX

We are seeking a skilled, compassionate, and detail-oriented Registered Dental Hygienist to join our patient-focused dental team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional preventative and therapeutic dental care, educate patients on oral health, and maintain a sterile, efficient, and welcoming environment. You will work closely with our dentists to identify, prevent, and treat oral health issues while delivering a high standard of care to our patients. Responsibilities and Duties Patient Care: Perform thorough, gentle cleanings (prophylaxis), periodontal maintenance, scaling, and root planing to remove plaque and tartar. Assessment: Conduct oral cancer screenings, assess periodontal health, take blood pressure, and perform dental charting to identify caries, gingivitis, or periodontitis. Diagnostic Imaging: Take, develop, and interpret digital dental X-rays (radiographs) to aid in diagnosis. Preventative Treatment: Apply fluoride treatments, dental sealants, and other cavity-preventing agents. Education: Educate patients of all ages on proper oral hygiene techniques, such as brushing, flossing, and diet-related oral health. Clinical Support: Assist the dentist with examinations and treatment planning. Documentation: Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records and clinical notes, ensuring HIPAA compliance. Sterilization: Adhere to strict OSHA, CDC, and state-specific infection control guidelines for sanitizing equipment and preparing treatment rooms. Required Qualifications and Skills Education: Associateâs or Bachelorâs degree in Dental Hygiene from an ADA-accredited program. Licensure: Valid and active State Dental Hygienist License. Certifications: CPR and BLS (Basic Life Support) certification. Clinical Skills: Proficiency in digital x-rays, periodontal probing, and ultrasonic scalers. Technology: Experience with dental software Dentrix Communication: Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills to educate patients and communicate with the dental team. Dexterity: High level of manual dexterity and attention to detail. Preferred Skills Experience with periodontal scaling. 1â3 years of clinical experience. Physical Requirements Ability to stand or sit for extended periods. Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Occasional lifting of equipment (up to 25â50 lbs).
