Job Overview Natural Smiles Dental Center in Reston, VA is seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care, educating patients on oral hygiene, and assisting the dental team in delivering comprehensive treatment. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to patient care. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings and examinations using appropriate tools and techniques. Utilize a 3D scanner for imaging and diagnostics as needed. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental visits. Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations. Assist in medical coding for insurance purposes to facilitate claims processing. Implement aseptic techniques to ensure a safe and sterile environment during procedures. Collaborate with the dental team to provide exceptional patient care, including assisting in various procedures as required. Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy to effectively communicate with patients about their dental health. Provide specialized care for pediatric patients, ensuring a comfortable experience for children. Experience Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is required. Some training will be provided for candidates with a strong desire and motivation to learn the dental field. Familiarity with systems such as Epic is advantageous but not required. Knowledge of medical documentation practices and medical coding is beneficial. Experience in dental assisting can enhance the candidate's ability to support the dental team effectively. X-Ray Certification is required. Bilingual (Spanish) required. This is a full time position working Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Some flexibility with the hours may be possible, within reason. Possibility of part time depending on availability within above mentioned office hours.
