Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and reviewing medical records to ensure safe treatment plans Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies tailored to their needs Assist with chairside procedures such as applying sealants, fluoride treatments, and assisting during restorative or pediatric dentistry procedures Utilize dental software systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for accurate documentation, charting, and recordkeeping Maintain strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques and adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy Support the dental team with medical imaging, including X-rays, ensuring proper technique and safety measures are followed Requirements Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations Proven experience in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or both; familiarity with pediatric dentistry is a plus Proficiency with dental terminology, EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Strong knowledge of anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques necessary for safe practice Ability to perform patient care tasks such as vital signs measurement and patient assessment confidently Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and collaborate seamlessly with the dental team Prior experience in dental office or clinic settings demonstrating proficiency in chairside assisting and documentation review Embark on a rewarding career where your skills make a difference!
