Lead Registered Dental Assistant (RDA / RDAEF)
North County Aesthetics & Implants (NCAI) – San Marcos & Rancho Bernardo
Overview
North County Aesthetics & Implants is seeking a Lead Registered Dental Assistant (RDA or RDAEF) to oversee back-office operations while delivering high-level chairside support.
This is not a passive assisting role. The Lead RDA will manage clinical flow, inventory systems, digital integration, and assist in the transition to a fully digital workflow (Trios 6 + in-house 3D printing).
Ideal candidate: organized, systems-oriented, technologically proficient, and capable of leading another assistant to ensure operational efficiency across both locations.
Core Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership & Flow

Lead back-office operations and daily clinical coordination

Direct and collaborate with second assistant for seamless operatory turnover

Ensure strict adherence to infection control and OSHA standards

Optimize schedule flow with providers to reduce downtime
Digital Dentistry & Workflow
-
Advanced intraoral scanning (Trios 6 proficiency pref)

Digital radiographs and intraoral photography
-
Digital case organization and file management
-
Assist with implementation of complete digital workflows

Support in-house 3D printing systems (models, surgical guides, provisionals, healing abutments)
Clinical Assisting

Chairside assisting during advanced restorative, implant, and surgical procedures

Fabrication and management of provisionals
-
Impressions/scans and provisional support (RDAEF expanded functions as applicable)

Accurate, real-time clinical documentation
Inventory & Systems Management

Manage ordering, supply tracking, and par levels
-
Maintain organized implant and surgical inventory
-
Coordinate with vendors for materials and equipment

Develop standardized back-office protocols
Requirements
-
Active California RDA or RDAEF license
-
CPR/BLS certification
-
Demonstrated proficiency in intraoral scanning (Trios preferred)

Strong understanding of restorative and surgical workflows

High organizational capacity and accountability

Ability to lead and train other team members
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in implant dentistry or surgical assisting

Familiarity with 3D printing workflows

Experience with digital case planning systems
