Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic. This position involves assisting dentists during procedures, managing patient records, and maintaining a sterile environment in accordance with infection control protocols. A strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures is essential for success in this role. Duties Assist dentists during various dental procedures, including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready for use. Perform X-rays and other medical imaging as required, adhering to safety protocols. Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix , ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Conduct preliminary assessments by taking vital signs and obtaining medical histories from patients. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following aseptic techniques and infection control standards. Assist with scheduling appointments and managing the front desk as needed, including tasks related to medical documentation and coding. Support pediatric dentistry efforts by providing compassionate care to young patients. Experience Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred, with familiarity in general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatrics being advantageous. Proficiency in using dental software systems such as Dentrix is highly desirable. Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy is essential for effective communication within the healthcare team. Experience with 3D scanners and other advanced dental technologies is a plus. Strong understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety.
