Duties Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth to maintain optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and dental charts to ensure safe and effective treatment. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to empower their health journey. Assist with chairside procedures such as taking digital X-rays, medical imaging, and applying sealants or fluoride treatments. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and office protocols. Ensure infection control standards are strictly followed through aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures. Skills Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Ability to accurately measure vital signs and perform patient assessment with compassion and professionalism. Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively while ensuring compliance with all healthcare regulations including HIPAA.
