Duties Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, and periodontal procedures ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic techniques to prevent infection. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), ensuring proper technique and patient safety in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Operate electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft to accurately document patient information, treatment plans, and medical histories. Collect vital signs such as blood pressure and pulse to assist in comprehensive patient assessments. Manage medical documentation including medical records, coding procedures for insurance purposes, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards. Utilize 3D scanners and other advanced imaging tools for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Practice four-handed dentistry techniques alongside the dentist to improve efficiency and reduce procedure time. Maintain thorough knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control protocols to ensure high-quality care. Uphold strict infection control standards by following aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures consistently throughout the clinic. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry practices. Skilled and certified in the fabrication of temporaries for crown and bridge procedures. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security. Ability to operate dental X-ray equipment safely while adhering to radiation safety guidelines. Strong understanding of dental assisting procedures including chairside assisting, vital signs measurement, medical imaging, and infection control practices. Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, medical terminology, and technical tools like 3D scanners is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients of all ages and backgrounds; capable of explaining procedures clearly. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism. Certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) is mandatory; willingness to obtain certification if needed.
