Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Dental Sterilization Technician/Dental Assistant to join our busy dental practice. This role involves supporting the clinical team by ensuring sterilization protocols are strictly followed, assisting with chairside procedures, and maintaining a clean and organized dental environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of dental terminology, infection control, and medical documentation, with experience in pediatric dentistry and general dentistry preferred. Responsibilities Prepare and sterilize dental instruments using aseptic techniques in compliance with infection control standards. Assist dentists during various procedures, including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques. Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates. Manage patient medical records accurately using Dentrix to ensuring HIPAA compliance. Provide support with medical documentation, coding, and maintaining organized patient files. Maintain a clean and sterile clinical environment, adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist when needed. Stay informed about dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and current best practices in general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and other specialties. Requirements Prior experience in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred. Knowledge of EMR systems such as Dentrix Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards. Certification or experience in X-ray procedures and medical imaging is desirable. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently within a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills for effective patient interaction and team collaboration. Ability to handle multiple responsibilities while maintaining attention to detail in record keeping and sterilization processes.
