Job purpose Provide general dental care to patients in a community health care environment within the scope of professional training, experience, ability, and licensure. Examines patients and diagnoses dental conditions. administer, required services, treatments, and procedures. Advises patients on treatment plans and oral hygiene. prepare summaries, evaluations, medical records, and other documentation. Performs a variety of related duties. Duties and responsibilities Primary job responsibilities include but are not limited to: Examines patients and diagnoses dental conditions. Performs dental procedures, including basic cleanings, fillings and repairs, extractions, and surgeries. Advises patients on treatment plans and oral hygiene. Interprets x-rays and other diagnostic tests. Refers patients to specialists if necessary and analyzes medical records and reports. Updates patient records Uses popular software, including medical database, research, diagnosis, billing, e-prescribing, scheduling, and telemedicine software. Follows all guidelines, regulations, and standards. Work as part of an integrated care team. Complete other duties and related projects as assigned. Qualifications Ability to perform the duties described above. Licensed to work in California Minimum of 2 years of experience Root Canals, 3rd molar extractions, crown and bridge experience a plus. Secondary language a plus: Spanish, Mandarin, Vietnamese. Ability to communicate well with people of diverse cultural professional and experiential backgrounds Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Physical requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to see to perform mouth-mirror inspection of the oral cavity. The employee may be required to sit or stand for long periods of time; use hands and reach with hands and arms for activities such as typing, cleanings and surgeries, the employee is also required to talk and hear.
