Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist / Dental Assistant. This role combines front desk responsibilities with clinical support, ensuring a seamless patient experience from appointment scheduling to post-treatment care. The ideal candidate will be energetic, organized, and passionate about providing exceptional patient service while maintaining efficient office operations. Duties Greet patients warmly and manage all front desk activities, including patient check-in and check-out, appointment scheduling, and phone etiquette using multi-line phone systems. Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance verification, and utilizing dental office management software such as Dentrix Assist dental practitioners during procedures by preparing treatment rooms, passing instruments, and ensuring adherence to infection control protocols, X-rays. Handle medical collection tasks, coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), Maintain organized filing systems for medical records and dental charts; ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date. Support clinic operations, patient intake processes efficiently, collecting co-pays, balances, communicating with patients Skills Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and health information management practices. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) and 10-key typing for efficient data entry. Exceptional customer service skills with a professional phone manner and effective communication abilities in bilingual settings preferred. Experience with insurance verification, medical billing and coding, documentation review Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly in compliance with HIPAA regulations; familiarity with medical collection processes is a plus. Previous dental office or clinic experience combined with strong clerical skills in a fast-paced environment will set you apart.
