Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and reviewing medical records to ensure safe treatment planning Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and treatment options to promote lifelong dental health Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and comfort Capture and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring accurate documentation in electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix Maintain strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination and ensure patient safety Review documentation for accuracy, update medical records, and assist with medical coding for billing purposes Monitor patient comfort throughout procedures, including taking vital signs and assessing overall health status Requirements Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice legally in the region Proven experience in general dentistry and dental office environments, with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred Proficiency with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for scheduling, documentation, and billing Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and HIPAA regulations to ensure compliance Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse age groups, especially pediatrics Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude under pressure Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and medical coding processes for accurate documentation Commitment to maintaining aseptic techniques and infection control standards at all times Join us in making a difference by providing top-tier dental hygiene services that foster healthy smiles!
