Responsibilities Assist dentist during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, ensuring all tools and materials are prepared and sterile. Support patient care by taking vital signs, medical history updates, and providing post-treatment instructions with clear communication. Operate dental imaging equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, panoramic, and CBCT machines to capture high-quality images necessary for diagnosis and treatment planning. Maintain accurate medical documentation and records using Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Implement infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to uphold the highest standards of safety and hygiene within the clinic. Assist with dental procedures by providing chairside support, including handling dental instruments efficiently in four-handed dentistry setups. Manage administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and updating patient records to ensure seamless clinic operations and a positive patient experience. Qualifications Previous experience working in a dental clinic environment is preferred, especially familiarity with dental assisting procedures and terminology. Proficiency in Dentrix or another EMR is beneficial. Strong understanding of infection control practices is a must. Anatomy knowledge is beneficial. Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while adhering to radiation safety standards. Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly to patients and any necessary referrals; experience in orthodontic, pediatric, or occlusion based dentistry can be helpful. Knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding, and medical documentation standards related to dental care. Comfort with technology and a desire to learn and grow professionally.
