Job Summary We are seeking a friendly & detail oriented Dental Office Receptionist to join our dental practice. In this essential role, you will be the friendly first point of contact for patients and visitors, managing appointment scheduling, patient check-in, insurance verification, and medical records management. Your proactive approach will ensure smooth daily operations, exceptional patient service, and efficient administrative support. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly upon arrival and assist with check-in procedures using various Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft. Schedule appointments accurately, coordinate with the clinical team, and manage the front desk calendar to optimize patient flow. Verify insurance coverage, process payments, and handle billing tasks utilizing medical billing software like Meditech or Athenahealth. Maintain patient records with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and proper documentation review. Answer multi-line phone systems professionally, providing information or directing calls efficiently while practicing excellent phone etiquette. Assist with medical administrative support including filing, data entry, and managing electronic health information using systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks. Facilitate patient intake processes, including collecting medical history forms and updating demographic information accurately. Requirements Strong knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification procedures. Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Meditech, Epic, or Athenahealth is highly desirable. Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) and typing skills (10-key typing). Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining professionalism under pressure. Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards and health information management practices is essential. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a busy dental environment.
