Responsibilities Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup effectively. Conduct thorough patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and reviewing medical records to ensure safe and tailored treatment plans. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency and comfort. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper technique and patient safety protocols are followed. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lasting oral health. Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories in electronic medical record (EMR) systems - Eaglesoft Follow infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures, to uphold the highest standards of safety and hygiene. Monitor patient comfort throughout procedures by assessing vital signs and responding promptly to any concerns or adverse reactions. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information during all documentation review and recordkeeping activities. Any duty assigned to ensure office compliance with regulations and safety measures as designated by its governing bodies Experience Previous experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a general or pediatric dentistry setting is preferred. Proficiency with EMR systems - Eaglesoft is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical coding standards is essential. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry techniques and experience working with children is a plus. Demonstrated ability to perform chairside assisting tasks efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care standards. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical terminology ensures accurate documentation review and data protection. Prior dental office or clinic experience that highlights your ability to manage diverse patient needs with professionalism and enthusiasm.
