Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dental team in delivering high-quality services. This position requires proficiency in various dental procedures, knowledge of dental terminology, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Duties Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety standards. Manage patient records, including medical documentation and medical records, ensuring HIPAA compliance. Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for efficient patient management. Conduct preliminary assessments by taking vital signs and gathering relevant medical history. Provide support in pediatric dentistry by creating a welcoming environment for young patients. Assist with dental procedures related to general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and other specialties as needed. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions. Maintain inventory of dental supplies and assist with ordering as necessary. Experience Candidates should possess the following skills and experience: Proficiency in Dentrix is preferred. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices is a plus. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques. Experience with medical imaging techniques including 3D scanning is advantageous. Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is highly desirable. Understanding of medical coding and documentation processes is beneficial.
