Assist dentist during complex procedures such as restorations, surgical and endodontics treatments with precision and confidence. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly, including surgical and medical imaging devices. Take dental X-rays while adhering to strict infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety. Manage patient flow by greeting families, updating medical records in Dentrix. Monitor vital signs and medical documentation for pediatric patients to support comprehensive care. Educate children and their guardians on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and preventive measures in a friendly, confident and informative manner. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations while utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems in Dentrix. Proficiency in dental assisting techniques with a focus on pediatric dentistry, including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry practices. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy relevant to pediatrics, and infection control standards. Experience operating PMS systems , specifically, Dentrix and Dexis for managing medical records, radiographs and documentation efficiently. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while maintaining aseptic technique; familiarity with medical imaging equipment is a plus. Knowledge of dental coding procedures for accurate billing and insurance processing. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and team members in a lively, positive manner. Confidence with utilizing "Tell-Show-Do" method when communicating with patients about their care. Familiarity with general dentistry procedures as well as specialized areas like endodontics and prosthodontics enhances your versatility within the clinic environment.
