Duties Greet patients warmly upon arrival, verify insurance information, and assist with patient intake processes. Schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Verify insurance coverage, process claims, and handle medical billing using systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth. Maintain accurate and up-to-date dental records, including documentation review and coding with ICD-10/ICD-9/CPT codes. Assist dental providers during procedures by preparing instruments, taking x-rays, and ensuring patient comfort. Manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism, providing excellent patient service and answering inquiries promptly. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information and managing health information securely. Requirements Proven experience in a dental office or clinic setting with strong knowledge of dental terminology and medical administrative procedures. Proficiency in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or eClinicalWorks; experience with Meditech or Epic is a plus. Familiarity with medical billing, insurance verification, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), and Medicare processes. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; typing speed of 10 key or more is preferred. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and office management tasks. Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Outstanding customer service skills combined with phone etiquette and professional demeanor at the front desk. Ability to handle medical scheduling efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude in a busy environment. Knowledge of dental terminology and clinic experience are essential; hospital or healthcare experience is advantageous.
