Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a clean and efficient clinical environment. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and adherence to all safety and health regulations. The Registered Dental Hygienist will play a vital role in promoting oral health and ensuring patient comfort during visits. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and treatment plans Assist with chairside procedures such as medical imaging and dental examinations Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations Utilize dental terminology effectively to communicate with patients and team members Follow infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure a sterile environment Collaborate with dentists on treatment planning and patient care strategies Review documentation for accuracy and completeness in EMR systems like Dentrix Support pediatric dentistry procedures when necessary, ensuring a gentle approach for young patients Adhere to all safety standards related to anatomy knowledge, medical coding, and documentation review Experience Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist in a general or pediatric dentistry setting Familiarity with dental office software, such as Dentrix Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and infection control practices Experience performing four-handed dentistry and chairside assisting preferred Strong understanding of anatomy, medical imaging, vital signs monitoring, and patient assessment techniques Prior experience working with pediatric patients is advantageous Certification as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state licensing requirements Join our team to make a difference in patientsâ oral health while working in a supportive environment that values professional growth and excellence in patient care.
