Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care, excellent clinical skills, and a thorough understanding of dental procedures and hygiene practices. As a key member of our practice, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive preventive dental services, nonsurgical periodontal treatment, a mix of other services in scope of practice, educating patients on oral health, and supporting the overall efficiency of the clinic. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, and other preventive treatments to maintain optimal oral health for patients. Conduct patient assessments including vital signs, medical history review, and dental examinations to inform treatment planning. Assist with scanning and new patient exams to ensure smooth workflow and patient comfort. Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, dietary impacts on oral health, and post-treatment care instructions. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and office policies. Collaborate with dentists and other team members to develop personalized treatment plans when applicable. Ensure infection control standards are rigorously followed to prevent cross-contamination and promote a safe clinical environment. Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and medical coding tasks. Skills Proficiency in dental software systems including Eaglesoft and Dentrix for scheduling, documentation, and billing purposes. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control practices. Ability to perform vital signs measurement accurately and interpret findings effectively. Familiarity with medical imaging techniques relevant to dentistry. Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach tailored to diverse patient populations including pediatrics. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and medical records management. Competence in documentation review, medical coding, and maintaining detailed records for insurance claims or legal purposes. Demonstrated ability in dental hygiene techniques with a focus on aseptic technique and infection prevention strategies. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a comprehensive medical/dental integrative setting.
