Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Chairside Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting, with expertise in supporting dentists during a variety of procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining the highest standards of infection control and safety. As a Chairside Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care while supporting efficient clinic operations through proficient use of dental technology and documentation systems. My office is a solo, private practice, concierge-style practice. No corporate involvement! Relationships are important; you need to be friendly and outgoing, with the desire to have conversations with the patients. We're not a "turn and burn" production office. Our patients come to us because they want to see us, talk to us, and feel like we care about them. Duties Assist dentist during clinical procedures, including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic techniques in accordance with infection control protocols. Operate dental equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and medical imaging devices to facilitate accurate diagnostics. Take and develop dental radiographs while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for accurate documentation of patient information, treatment plans, and medical history. Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist and updating medical documentation efficiently. Monitor vital signs and assist with patient assessments to ensure safety during procedures. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and various specialties including pediatric dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry. Practice effective four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency and reduce procedure time. Uphold infection control standards by following proper sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques at all times. Requirements Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant within a clinical setting with familiarity in dental assisting practices. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security. Competency in taking X-rays, utilizing 3D scanners, and performing vital signs assessments. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism. Excellent communication skills to interact compassionately with patients of all ages and collaborate seamlessly with team members. Certification in dental assisting or relevant formal training is required; additional certifications in radiography or specialized areas are desirable.
