Duties Perform comprehensive dental prophylaxis, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to maintain optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical and dental histories, taking vital signs, and documenting findings accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Assist with chairside procedures by providing four-handed dentistry support to the dentist, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort. Take and develop medical imaging (X-rays) while adhering to strict infection control and aseptic techniques. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment plans tailored to pediatric dentistry or general dentistry needs. Review documentation for accuracy, ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, and assist with medical coding for billing purposes. Maintain a clean and sterile clinical environment by following infection control protocols and proper sterilization procedures. Monitor patient vital signs before procedures to ensure safety during treatment sessions. Requirements Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice. Proven experience in dental office settings, with familiarity using EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix preferred. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Experience working with pediatric patients and in pediatric dentistry is highly desirable. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively and communicate clearly. Ability to perform dental assisting tasks such as chairside support during various procedures. Knowledge of medical terminology, documentation review, and medical records management.
