Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and sterilized equipment following aseptic techniques Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging technology such as 3D scanners and other medical imaging tools Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Dentrix and Dexis while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy Collect vital signs and medical history information to support comprehensive patient assessments Support dental reception duties by scheduling appointments and managing patient flow Maintain infection control standards and ensure all equipment adheres to OSHA guidelines for safety and cleanliness Assist with medical documentation and coding related to dental procedures for accurate record-keeping and billing Experience Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic or healthcare environment is preferred but not required Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix and Dexis is highly preferred Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control protocols Hands-on experience with chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and handling dental instruments efficiently Ability to operate X-ray machines safely while adhering to radiation safety standards Experience working with pediatric patients and understanding pediatric dentistry procedures is a plus Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced setting Join us to make a positive impact on patientsâ lives through excellent dental care!
