Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow. Prepare treatment rooms with the necessary instruments and materials, maintaining strict aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including digital imaging and 3D scans, to assist with accurate diagnoses. Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring all medical documentation complies with HIPAA regulations. Perform chairside assisting duties, including taking vital signs, medical history updates, and explaining procedures to patients to ease anxiety. Support the dental reception area by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing patient communications efficiently. Maintain a clean and organized clinic environment while adhering to infection control standards and OSHA guidelines. Assist with medical documentation and coding related to dental procedures for accurate record keeping. Experience Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry practices. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic or similar medical documentation platforms is a plus. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control procedures. Experience performing X-ray procedures and utilizing advanced imaging tools like 3D scanners is highly desirable. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and working with pediatric patients is preferred. Ability to demonstrate excellent communication skills as both a dental assistant and receptionist when interacting with patients and team members. Certification in radiography or X-ray technology required; additional certifications in endodontics or prosthodontics are advantageous.
