Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and oral examinations. Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in systems like soft dent software while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Support infection control protocols through aseptic techniques, sterilization procedures, and maintaining a clean clinical environment. * Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice. Proven experience in dental hygiene within general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings preferred. Proficiency in Softdent system is desirable. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and medical terminology. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically across diverse patient populations including pediatrics. Familiarity with medical imaging techniques, vital signs assessment, and documentation review processes.
