Job Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant, where your enthusiasm and expertise will help create a welcoming environment for pediatric patients and support the delivery of exceptional dental care. In this vital role, you will assist dentists during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the clinic operates smoothly and efficiently. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will contribute to positive patient experiences and the overall success of our practice. Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is in proper working order using aseptic techniques. Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry by handing instruments and managing patient comfort. Take and develop X-ray images, ensuring proper positioning and adherence to infection control protocols. Manage patient records accurately within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic, including updating medical documentation and coding. Monitor vital signs and medical history to support safe treatment planning for patients of all ages, especially pediatric patients. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and answer their questions with professionalism and clarity. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist, verifying insurance information, and maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, four-handed dentistry, and medical imaging. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control standards, and aseptic technique. Experience with EMR systems like Dentrix, Open Dental, Eaglesoft, or Epic for managing medical records efficiently. Ability to operate dental equipment such as 3D scanners and X-ray machines safely and accurately. Familiarity with medical coding practices related to dental procedures for accurate billing and documentation. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and other healthcare professionals.
