Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Registered Dental Hygienist and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and promoting oral health. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will work closely with patients to provide thorough cleanings, assessments, and education while supporting the overall efficiency of the dental practice. Your expertise will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel confident and cared for at every visit. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and dental charts to ensure safe and effective treatment. Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to their needs. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance workflow efficiency. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation review in compliance with HIPAA regulations and dental office standards. Monitor patient comfort throughout procedures, providing chairside assistance with a focus on patient care and safety. Skills Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation and scheduling. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Experience in pediatric dentistry or working with pediatric patients is highly desirable. Ability to perform patient assessment including vital signs and medical history review accurately. Familiarity with general dentistry procedures, medical coding, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively while maintaining professionalism and compassion. Prior experience in dental clinic or dental office environments demonstrating familiarity with infection control standards and documentation review.
