Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Registered Dental Hygienist and become a vital part of delivering exceptional oral healthcare! In this energetic role, you will provide comprehensive dental hygiene services, educate patients on maintaining optimal oral health, and support the overall efficiency of our dental practice. Your expertise will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel confident and cared for, all while working with cutting-edge EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and adhering to the highest standards of infection control and patient safety. Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental conditions to develop personalized treatment plans. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and the importance of regular dental visits. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed. Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support infection control protocols by practicing aseptic techniques, sterilizing instruments, and managing clinical supplies effectively. Skills Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for accurate record keeping. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Experience in pediatric dentistry and pediatrics to comfortably care for young patients. Skilled in chairside assisting, including handling dental instruments and managing patient comfort during procedures. Ability to review documentation thoroughly for accuracy and completeness; familiarity with medical coding is a plus. Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures to ensure patient safety.
