Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all supplies are ready for procedures Assist dentists during various treatments including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and professionalism Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft while maintaining HIPAA compliance for patient privacy Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and comfort during procedures Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort levels throughout treatments to ensure safety and well-being Support infection control protocols using aseptic techniques and knowledge of anatomy to prevent cross-contamination Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist when needed, ensuring smooth clinic operations Maintain accurate medical documentation, records, and coding for insurance purposes using Epic or similar systems Educate patients on dental terminology, post-treatment care, and oral health practices to promote ongoing wellness Experience Previous experience working in a dental clinic environment is highly preferred, especially within general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings Proficiency with dental software systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic is advantageous Knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding, and electronic health record management is essential Hands-on experience with X-ray procedures, 3D scanners, and medical imaging equipment is desirable Familiarity with infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and OSHA regulations ensures safe practice standards Strong understanding of anatomy relevant to dentistry enhances patient care quality Experience assisting with various dental specialties including prosthodontics and endodontics will be beneficial Embark on a rewarding career where your skills make a real difference!
