Duties Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and professionalism. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly using infection control protocols. Take and develop dental X-rays, including advanced imaging like 3D scans, while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Manage patient records efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, treatment plans, and medical coding. Perform chairside assisting with aseptic technique, vital signs measurement, and medical imaging to support safe and effective patient care. Support administrative tasks such as greeting patients as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments, and managing medical documentation to streamline clinic operations. Educate patients on oral health practices and post-treatment care to promote long-term dental wellness. Qualifications Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures and dental terminology. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; familiarity with Epic or other medical records software is a plus. Strong understanding of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, anatomy knowledge, and HIPAA compliance. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely and accurately; experience with 3D scanners or advanced imaging tools is desirable. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics; experience in pediatric dentistry is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry and the ability to document medical records precisely. Certification in dental assisting or relevant training; additional certifications in medical coding or endodontics are advantageous.
