Downtown Endodontics, a trusted endodontic practice located in downtown Portland, is looking for an enthusiastic Dental Assistant/Patient Care Coordinator to join our team. This role is tailor-made for new dental assistants (or those currently enrolled in a dental assisting program) who want to build their skill set by joining a team of professionals dedicated to providing excellent specialized dental care! As a Dental Assistant / Patient Care Coordinator, you'll play a crucial role in providing a great experience for our patients. Whether you're just starting out in the dental field or looking for a career change, this position offers hands-on experience and the chance to grow in the industry. What You’ll Do: Provide outstanding customer service for our patients - helping with administrative and clinical functions in the practice. Front desk administrative duties such as answering phones, greeting patients, scheduling patients, etc. Ensure treatment rooms are clean, safe, and ready for the next patient. Sterilize dental instruments and handpieces Take radiographs using standard digital dental radiographic equipment. (Please note that if you do not possess the state-required radiology certification, we will assist with the cost of obtaining this.) Help maintain the office's cleanliness by keeping operatories spotless, including floors, cabinets, and countertops. Order and organize dental supplies Support the clinical team with various tasks and perform other duties as needed (you may even get the chance to assist the doctor as you grow!). **This is a full-time position with a schedule of: Monday through Friday, 7:15AM to 5PM** What We’re Looking For: A positive, motivated, and reliable individual who thrives in a dynamic environment. Qualifications: Dental Assistant certification in the state or Oregon (or currently enrolled / planning on enrolling in a dental assisting program). Oregon Dental Radiology certification preferred, but please note that we will assist you with obtaining this certification if needed. Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, etc. is helpful Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently. Reliability and punctuality.
