Registered Dental Assistant - Mid-Valley Dental Associates - Corvallis, OR

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support clinical operations, ensure patient comfort, and maintain high standards of infection control and dental/medical documentation. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care through chairside assisting, dental/medical imaging, and maintaining accurate dental/medical records. Responsibilities Assist dentists during various procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring aseptic techniques are followed Take and develop X-rays while adhering to safety protocols and infection control standards Record vital signs and medical history accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Dentrix Ascend Manage patient flow efficiently, including scheduling appointments and updating medical documentation when necessary Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort Operate 3D scanners and other medical imaging equipment for comprehensive diagnostics Maintain strict infection control practices in compliance with HIPAA regulations and OSHA standards Educate patients on oral health care procedures and post-treatment instructions using appropriate dental terminology Support the dental team with general administrative tasks related to medical records management and coding Qualifications Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental assisting procedures Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix Ascend and proficiency in dental/medical coding and documentation preferred Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely and effectively while maintaining patient comfort Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and various specialties including IV sedation recording, prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with patients and team members Certification or training in chairside assisting is a requirement Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail This position is integral to providing comprehensive dental care while ensuring compliance with all safety standards.
