Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA)/Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. Duties Assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures, including restorative, prosthodontic, endodontic, and pediatric treatments Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control protocols are strictly followed Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), ensuring proper patient positioning and safety measures Manage medical documentation accurately within EMR systems such as Dolphin, maintaining up-to-date medical records and records management Perform vital signs assessment and monitor patient health status during procedures Provide chairside assistance using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort Educate patients on oral health care instructions and post-treatment care Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment adhering to infection control standards Assist with administrative tasks as needed, including dental reception duties and scheduling appointments Qualifications Certified EFDA or equivalent certification with current licensure as required by state regulations Proven experience in general dentistry; experience in pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, or endodontics is preferred Proficiency with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic, or similar EMR platforms Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and proper medical documentation practices Skilled in X-ray techniques and familiar with medical imaging equipment including 3D scanners Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, medical terminology, and infection control protocols Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently using aseptic techniques in a fast-paced environment Experience with medical coding for dental procedures is advantageous Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively Ability to work collaboratively within a team specializing in general dentistry and pediatrics Xray Certified This position offers a rewarding opportunity for qualified dental professionals committed to providing exceptional patient care while advancing their skills within a supportive practice environment.
