Overview Peakview Cosmetic & Implant Dentistry is looking for an experienced full time Dental Assistant in a fast paced office. We are looking for a quick learner up for a challenge with an office that does a wide range of treatments in house. Being on our passionate team will be difficult and extremely rewarding as you help change people's lives on a daily basis. Our practice focuses on full mouth implant reconstruction and cosmetic rehabilitation along with basic general dental procedures. Our patients expect dedication, precision, utmost clinical excellence, and most importantly care and compassion (along with having fun along the way!). The patients we see are high anxiety, have had bad past dental experiences, and most have given up hope on basic things such as smiling in photos, dating, eating out with friends/family, and even just talking with people in general. In this role, you will be directly responsible in changing that for the rest of our patient's lives. Surgical experience not necessary but preferred.All surgical and dental workflows are fully digital and constantly re-evaluated for the best patient outcomes and efficiency. Assistant hours are Monday - Thursday 8:30am-5pm, Friday 8:30am-4pm. Tuesdays are admin days and are usually without patients. Duties Patient Management Greet patients when they sign in and monitor arrival time Set up treatment rooms for procedures Seat patients in treatment rooms Show care and concern, and help patients feel comfortable Obtain and review health histories according to office protocol Anticipate and assist dentist’s needs Perform expanded functions and other tasks as assigned by the dentist Ensure patients’ questions are answered thoroughly before they leave Chart patients and record date, service rendered and any charges Escort patients from the treatment room Ensure proper treatment notes are recorded in patient’s chart Perform clinical procedures as practice act allows and as directed by dentist Give patient instruction and demonstrate when necessary Monitor patient flow Assist the dentist with other tasks as assigned Treatment Room Management and Sterilization Keep dental units ready, stocked and clean Oversee cleanliness of the treatment room according to sterilization procedures Sterilize all instruments and handpieces according to OSHA regulations Keep trays, instruments and treatment room drawers organized Promptly send out and monitor all dental laboratory cases Follow laboratory procedures according to office protocol Inventory and Records Management Monitor inventory and order dental office supplies as needed Ensure that treatment rooms are stocked at all times Securely store and handle patient records in compliance with state and federal requirements, including Observe HIPAA privacy and security regulations Accurately file patient information Arrange patient charts and radiographs for next day’s appointments Track cases and referrals to and from other doctors Assist in the administration of the recall system Qualifications Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is essential; familiarity with dental assisting procedures is highly preferred. Proficiency in dental software platform, Dentrix, is required; experience with other medical documentation systems is a plus. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology to accurately support diagnosis and treatment. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while following all radiation safety guidelines. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, fostering trust and comfort. Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and sterilization processes to ensure patient safety at all times. Certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
