Overview Main Line Endo and Periodontics is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant, specializing in Endo and Perio, to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting, with a focus on providing exceptional patient care and supporting clinical operations. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in ensuring efficient clinic workflows, maintaining high standards of infection control, and supporting dentists during various procedures. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly. Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures related to Endodontic and Periodontic treatments. Take dental X-rays using digital imaging systems such as digital X-ray and 3D scanners while adhering to safety protocols. Manage patient records accurately within Denticon, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide chairside assistance by handing instruments, suctioning, and monitoring patient comfort throughout procedures. Educate patients on post-treatment care, oral hygiene practices, and treatment plans to promote overall oral health. Maintain strict infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures in accordance with OSHA guidelines. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and assisting the dental receptionist with patient check-in/out processes. Assist with medical documentation and coding for billing purposes related to dental procedures involving medical records or medical imaging. Collaborate effectively within a team practicing four-handed dentistry to optimize workflow efficiency and patient experience. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, taking vital signs, and managing medical documentation. Experience working with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for accurate record-keeping and scheduling. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment. Familiarity with advanced dental technology including 3D scanners and medical imaging equipment used in general dentistry and specialized fields like prosthodontics or endodontics. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety standards. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security in medical records management. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of diverse backgrounds, including pediatric dentistry cases. Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced clinic environment while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism.
