Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control practices, and the ability to work effectively. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during various dental procedures Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready for use. Perform chairside assisting while adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Take X-rays as needed, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Record patient medical history and vital signs accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Manage dental documentation and medical records efficiently, including coding and maintaining HIPAA compliance. Utilize dental software such as Eaglesoft for appointments and managing patient information. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Collaborate with the dental receptionist to ensure smooth patient flow within the clinic. Qualifications Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic is preferred. Proficiency in EMR systems; familiarity with Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control measures. Experience with chairside assisting techniques and four-handed dentistry is an advantage. Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients of all ages. A commitment to providing exceptional patient care while maintaining professionalism at all times. Certification in radiology or relevant dental assisting credentials is required.
