Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, ensuring optimal oral health for patients of all ages. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and dental examinations to inform treatment plans. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster long-term health habits. Review and update medical records accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Maintain a sterile environment by following strict infection control procedures, including sterilization of instruments and proper disposal of biohazard materials. Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental or clinical setting with familiarity in general dentistry procedures. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical coding, and documentation review to ensure precise recordkeeping. Hands-on experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred. Strong understanding of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and OSHA regulations related to dental practice safety. Background in pediatric dentistry or pediatrics is a plus, demonstrating comfort working with children and their unique needs. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs accurately and communicate effectively.
