Overview We are seeking a dedicated Orthodontic Assistant to join our team at DSM Orthodontics! The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to our braces and aligner patients. This position requires a strong understanding of orthodontic procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Duties Assist the orthodontist during various procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow and patient comfort. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring all tools and materials are sterile and ready for use. Perform four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures. Take X-rays and scans as needed, adhering to safety protocols. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient visit. Educate patients and their families about oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow. Utilize Tops software (Mac based) for patient management and record-keeping. Apply aseptic techniques in all clinical procedures to ensure patient safety. Qualifications Previous experience in orthodontics is preferred but not mandatory. Familiarity with medical records management and assisting in clinical settings is required. Proficiency in using dental software systems, particularly Tops, is a plus. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with children and their guardians. Ability to work well within a team while also being self-motivated.
