Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to their needs. Assist with chairside procedures such as applying sealants or fluoride treatments under the supervision of the dentist. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and office protocols. Utilize dental software systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and appointment scheduling. Support infection control protocols by adhering to aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure smooth workflow using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency. Monitor patient comfort during procedures and provide compassionate care specific to pediatric dentistry when applicable. Assist in medical imaging procedures such as X-rays while ensuring safety standards are met. Skills Proficiency in dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical coding practices relevant to dentistry. Experience with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable. Strong understanding of infection control standards and aseptic techniques within a dental setting. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse age groups, including pediatrics. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles for treating young patients with patience and professionalism. Ability to perform vital signs measurement and basic medical assessments accurately. Familiarity with general dentistry procedures, documentation review, and medical records management. Demonstrated competence in chairside assisting, including handling dental instruments efficiently during procedures. Awareness of HIPAA compliance requirements for safeguarding patient information. A background in dental office or clinic experience that emphasizes infection control, medical imaging, and documentation accuracy.
