Duties include but are not limited to initial patient screenings, cleanings, advising patients on oral health and preventative care, discussing treatment plans, completing sealants, working up dental emergencies, stocking supplies and many other related task to complete comprehensive patient care as a practice. Responsibilities Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible during and with upcoming treatments Sterilize dental instruments properly Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history Identify conditions like gingivitis, periodontitis and caries Educate patients of all ages on proper teeth care (by demonstrating, for example, good brushing techniques) Give instruction to patients on dental procedures Take X-rays and dental impressions Assist dentist with selecting appropriate treatments Maintain documentation and charts on each patient Monitor and order supplies Skills Valid dental hygiene license In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. HIPAA) Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment Outstanding communication skills A patient and friendly personality Attention to detail Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $43.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Employee discount Flexible schedule Health insurance Paid time off Retirement plan Work Location: In person
