Overview We are seeking a reliable and organized Dental Receptionist to join our team. This key role manages the front office operations of our dental practice, ensuring patients receive a welcoming and efficient experience from check-in to check-out. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and experience using Open Dental to support daily administrative workflows. Responsibilities Greet patients in a friendly and professional manner and manage patient check-in and check-out using Open Dental . Schedule and confirm appointments while maintaining the provider schedule and operatory calendar in Open Dental . Answer phone calls, respond to patient questions, and provide information about dental services and procedures. Maintain accurate patient charts, update demographic information, and scan or upload documents into Open Dental patient records . Verify insurance eligibility, enter insurance plans, and process insurance claims and pre-authorizations through Open Dental . Collect co-payments, process payments, and assist patients with billing questions. Monitor appointment confirmations, recall reminders, and patient communications through Open Dental’s messaging and reminder tools . Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area. Work closely with dentists, hygienists, and assistants to ensure smooth patient flow throughout the day. Skills & Qualifications Experience in dental front office administration , preferably in a dental practice. Familiarity with dental terminology and dental insurance processes . Experience using Open Dental practice management software for scheduling, charting, and insurance processing. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced clinical environment. Accurate typing and data entry skills. Bilingual communication skills are a plus. Excellent customer service skills with a professional and compassionate approach to patient care.
