Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly according to infection control protocols. Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing chairside support with precision and care. Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging, ensuring accurate positioning and patient safety using aseptic techniques. Manage patient records by updating medical documentation, medical records, and dental charts in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care while maintaining a compassionate and professional demeanor. Monitor vital signs and assist with pediatric dentistry procedures to ensure patient comfort and safety. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering the phone as a dental receptionist, and managing patient flow efficiently. Requirements Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical terminology. Proficiency with EMR systems including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Familiarity with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures. Knowledge of dental assisting procedures across various specialties such as prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Strong understanding of aseptic technique, infection control standards, and sterilization processes. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with the dental team and provide outstanding patient care.
