Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and dental charts to ensure safe and effective treatments Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to their needs Assist with chairside procedures such as taking dental radiographs (medical imaging) and preparing treatment areas using aseptic techniques Review and update medical records accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft and Weave, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Monitor infection control protocols by practicing proper sterilization procedures and maintaining a sterile environment Collaborate with dentists and dental assistants in four-handed dentistry to streamline patient flow and enhance care quality Document all patient interactions meticulously, including medical coding for billing purposes and documentation review for accuracy Experience Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental hygiene procedures Proven experience working in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings, demonstrating familiarity with pediatric dentistry techniques when applicable Proficiency in using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft and Weave for scheduling, documentation, and record management Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control standards, and aseptic techniques Experience with patient care procedures including vital signs measurement, medical imaging, and patient assessment Ability to perform chairside assisting tasks efficiently while maintaining excellent patient rapport Familiarity with HIPAA compliance, medical records management, medical terminology, and medical coding practices related to dental care Join us in creating healthier smiles every day!
