Duties Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and sterilized equipment following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments. Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging systems such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners while ensuring patient safety and comfort. Manage patient records by updating electronic medical records (EMR systems) ensuring accuracy in medical documentation and coding. Assess patient comfort before, during, and after procedures to support overall health and safety. Support general clinic operations by maintaining inventory levels, sterilizing instruments, and adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Qualifications Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy. Proficiency with EMR systems Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while following all safety guidelines for radiation exposure. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and experience assisting with pediatric patients is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with dentists, patients, and team members including dental receptionists. Certification in dental assisting or equivalent training; additional certifications in medical terminology or medical coding are advantageous.
