Duties Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments with precision and care. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring aseptic techniques are followed to maintain infection control standards. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners and X-ray machines while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage patient records efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, dental terminology, and treatment plans. Support the dental reception area by scheduling appointments, verifying patient information, and managing medical documentation and records with attention to detail. Measure vital signs such as blood pressure and pulse to monitor patient health before procedures. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment by following infection control protocols and proper aseptic techniques. Collaborate seamlessly in four-handed dentistry setups to enhance efficiency during chairside assisting. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and dental terminology to foster understanding and comfort. Experience Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially with general dentistry or pediatric dentistry practices. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is essential for managing patient data effectively. Familiarity with medical coding, medical terminology, and electronic health record systems like Epic enhances your ability to document accurately. Hands-on experience with dental X-ray techniques, including digital imaging and 3D scanning technology. Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, anatomy knowledge related to oral structures, and sterilization procedures is crucial for maintaining a safe clinical environment. Strong understanding of dental assisting responsibilities across various specialties such as endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry. Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
