Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. As a Dental Assistant, you will support dentists during various procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the smooth operation of the clinic. Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring adherence to infection control protocols. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced equipment such as 3D scanners and medical imaging tools while maintaining patient safety standards. Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft to document patient information accurately and efficiently. Perform chairside assisting with aseptic techniques, vital signs measurement, and dental terminology application during patient visits. Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, greeting patients as a dental receptionist, and managing medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote overall oral health. Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment following infection control standards and anatomy knowledge for safe practice. Skills Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation. Experience with dental radiography including X-ray procedures and the use of 3D scanners for diagnostic purposes. Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding relevant to dental procedures. Knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization processes within a dental clinic setting. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and working with children in a clinical environment. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently across general dentistry procedures including endodontics and prosthodontics. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages and collaborate with team members such as dental receptionists and hygienists. Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry to assist with medical imaging and treatment planning.
