Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic, providing exceptional patient care, and assisting the dental professionals during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures, as well as proficiency in using dental software and equipment. Duties Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare treatment rooms by ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready for use. Take and develop X-rays, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulations. Maintain accurate medical documentation, including patient records and medical histories, while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Manage sterilization of instruments and ensure infection control measures are followed. Utilize EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for patient management and scheduling. Support pediatric dentistry by providing compassionate care to young patients and assisting with their specific needs. Perform vital signs checks as needed and assist in medical imaging when required. Collaborate with the dental receptionist to ensure efficient patient flow and appointment scheduling. Qualifications Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred, with familiarity in general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatrics being advantageous. Proficient in using dental software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic is a plus. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, medical coding, and documentation practices. Ability to operate 3D scanners and other advanced dental technology is desirable. Understanding of aseptic techniques and infection control protocols is essential. Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide compassionate care to patients of all ages.
